During this quarantine days, I asked my friend SURAYA to share her Hatyai & Krabi trip experienced. I’m glad to share her story with you all.

The most exciting trip of the year. Yes… it’s here… it’s all started at the end of October 2019 when I decided to travel to Hatyai and Krabi as a year-end trip. The first thing comes to mind was who to pick as my travel partner. So I choose my friends and yes it’s a complete girl’s trip.

So we started our survey on how to travel from kl to the accommodation in Krabi. After all the surveys and fights we finally manage to travel in the first week of November. It was a school holiday so the flight ticket quite expensive. And the train was full by the time we want to book. So our final decision was to book the bus.

NO CHOICE. The bus departs from TBS (Terminal Bersatu Padu) in Kuala Lumpur. The ticket price was around RM62 (booked by one of my friends so not really sure about the price). So we took 10.30 pm bus. The bus was not really comfortable as it’s a very last minute booking. So for those travelers planning for the long trips better books earlier especially those who traveling with elderly people. Upon boarding the bus everyone was exhausted (taking account of it was working day thus everyone was rushing after their work). All fell asleep the moment we got into the bus.

Day 1

Around 6 AM we reached the Padang Besar border. I couldn’t remember exactly what time we reach there but it’s around 6 – 6.30 AM. So the bus will stop at the Malaysian Imigresen. The earlier you are the earlier you will clear the Malaysia Imigresen and the same goes to the Thai Imigresen. Since our bus reached on time we go through the Malaysian Imigresen within 30 minutes. On the Malaysian side, things will be simple. Usually, they will only check your passport.

Once you clear the Malaysian immigration, you can get into your bus back and they will drive you to the Thailand Immigration which is 2/3KM from Malaysian Imigresen. Here’s where things can get complicated. We need to produce a few documents in Thai Imigresen. Since one of our friends been there before it was easy for us. It will take around 1-2 hours to clear Thai immigration. And the main thing is you need to fill up a document and make sure you do not lose it as you will have to present it when you re-enter Malaysia.  And one more important thing for travelers is will have to prove that they have at least 10,000 Baht per person or 20,000 Baht per family in order to be allowed entry.

After the customs clearance here we are in Thailand. Oh yeah for bus travelers, the bus will bring you only until Thai Imigresen. After that, we need to find our own way. So here we choose the train from Padang Besar to Hatyai which took us around 40 minutes. Once we reached Hatyai there were many agents waiting to approach us. But we already decided to take the bus from Hatyai to Krabi. So yes we were looking for a tuk-tuk. It’s better we wait for the roadside for the tuk-tuk. There are hundreds of Tuk-tuk that can be seen on roads. But the tuk-tuk was expensive which cost each of us 30baht.

The duration of to train station around 10minints. Once reach the bus station, you need to find the counter selling bus tickets. Because there are few counters for Van tickets. So at first, we get confused. Since the trip to Krabi will take 6 hours we choose the express bus. The bus double-decker and more comfortable but a bit pricey. We reached Krabi station at 6 pm. Thailand is 1 hour behind Malaysia so 6 pm in Krabi is the same as 7 pm Malaysia.

After a tiring day, we choose a taxi to reach our hotel in Aonang. Aonang is happening and the best place for food. So, we can survey hotels in Aonang. Since it was a school holiday we only able to book a hotel a bit far away from the main area which took us 10minits to reach the happening area. So we booked a Resort name Phu Panwa Resort which is RM 280 per night. We booked a family room for us. It can get cheaper if a book from Agoda. The hotel staff is nice and they even suggest to us the best way to travel around Krabi.

So we chose scooter which cost 200-250baht(RM20-RM25) per day. After getting ready and fresh up we asked the hotel receptionist for the nearest restaurant for dinner. They suggest the Krabi Night Market which is 20 minutes far away from the resort. It’s worth it. There are soo many halal foods and souvenirs you can buy from there.

Since on the first day our breakfast and lunch were not proper we really want hunting for food. Krabi night market is not the same as Malaysian Pasar Malam. Its bit differs from ours. A new experience for travelers. It is held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in downtown Krabi. For those food hunters its heaven. So many varieties of foods. It even can get souvenirs from there because of its more cheap compare to other places.

Day 2

We get ready as early as 8 am for elephant trekking. Before the elephant trekking, we go for breakfast this one Malay shop in Aonang.  We had roti canai with hot milo. Truly Malaysians. Around 9 am we reach Krabi safari which is 20 minutes from Aonang. Nothing much there other than the elephant ride. We can choose either 30 minutes or 15minits ride.

So we chose 15 minutes elephant ride which cost 300 baht each person. After the elephant ride, we feed the elephant there. We need to buy a banana which costs 60baht.New experience while taking pictures and playing with baby elephants. After that, we went to the national park for Island hopping. The package we took includes 4 island hopping and the snorkeling equipment. The island hopping we went starting at 1 pm and we back to the jetty around 7 pm.

Once back to the hotel after some, we get ready for dinner. So we go to the seafood restaurant over there. After dinner, we go for a walk in Aonang street. Music, people, and so many souvenir shops there. We walk and try their street foods as well.

Day 3

Last day in Krabi. We went to the Emerald pool. Visit the famous Hot Spring and the Hot Spring waterfalls, the hot water pools, swimming in the Emerald Pools, the famous Blue Lagoon. If you will travel solo, remember that the earlier you can arrive at the Emerald Pool, the fewer people around and the clearer the water will be. There’s a 90 baht federal park entry fee to access the hot springs, plus another 200 baht fee before reaching the Emerald swimming pool. Once you are at the entrance you will have two options, the long walk or the brief walk into the pools. The long walk is 1,400 meters and also a raised concrete route that’s been constructed through the rain forests. It is a very pretty stroll beyond rivers and ponds.

Instead, the fastest route is just 800 meters but the track is quite filthy. I suggest taking the path in and the route that is brief out. Once in the pool be quite careful about the slippery stones all around.

After the emerald pool trip we back to Hatyai which took another 6 hours. And since it was Sunday they had a Floating market. And we had another few hours for our bus so we go for the floating markets and a few shops there. Hatyai floating marketing flooded with people queue for food. But the time we been there was a bit late so the foods almost finished. We still manage to taste the foods there. Yummy!!

How To Apply New Zealand ETA? Do It Online in 3 Steps!

A beautiful blog is written by Sin Yee (A Sabahan who is currently based in KL, MY. I blog mainly in food, beauty, and lifestyle). She has shared her online NZeTA application which was obtained from our agency. We hope this is helpful for others as well.

NZeTA Malaysia

When talking about New Zealand, what are the things in your mind? For me, NZ is a wonderful land of nature. I love humble and loving people, which Kiwi has~ And it is not overcrowding where LOHAS travelers would love it. I know quite a number of friends who visited NZ, and some have the chance to join the Work & Travel program in NZ. But for for myself, I have never visited there and I hope to go soon. Yet, we are all stuck at home now due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Well, it can’t stop me preparing my “Travel the world” dream. I have planned few trips that I wish I could go after the epidemic and one of them is to travel to New Zealand. So, I have done some studies and found that we need to apply ETA even Malaysia is listed as one of the visa waiver countries.

New Zealand ETA is like an electronic travel pass for travelers from visa waiver countries. It is first launched in August 2019 and is a mandatory entry document since October 2019.

Meanwhile, there are 2 types of NZ ETA:

1. Visit ETA – For whom are visiting New Zealand for up to 3 months. Regardless you will be arriving NZ by plane or you are flying to NZ to join a cruise trip, as long as you are entering NZ, you need to get this visit ETA.

2. Transit ETA – For those who are passing through New Zealand on your way to another country and do not plan to stay, you would have to apply for transit ETA. Please note that as a transit passenger, you can only travel through Auckland International Airport where you must stay in the transit area of the airport or on board your craft.

FYI, New Zealand ETA is valid for 2 years and can be used for multiple visits. And the great thing is you do not have to walk into embassy to apply the ETA. What you need to do is to apply it online. And here I am going to recommend the agency that I always engage with when applying my visa/ETA – iAdventure Escape Tours And Travel Sdn Bhd.

iAdventure Escape Tours And Travel Sdn Bhd is a registered travel agency. They have a physical center but you don’t have to walk-in in order to apply. So don’t ask me is this legit (like people who doubt me for years since I shared Aus Visa Application with only RM25)! Yes, it is!

Well, NZ ETA is not as cheap as Australia’s one.. It starts from USD 40~~

Now, let’s dive in to apply the New Zealand ETA…

Step 1: Go to and click “Request an ETA”

Step 2:  Fill in your details. Click “Continue” to fill in all the details and “Submit”.

Note: Make sure all are correct before submission.

Step 3: Click “Continue to payment” to make your payment directly.

Note: After payment is made, you will be redirected to the following page. Please remember your reference number. It is recommended to screenshot for reference.

Basically, after these 3 steps above, you will receive a confirmation email, stating that your application is in progress.

The application takes up to 72 hours to complete (depending on the package you take as well) and you will then receive another email update (application success or failure).

If your application is approved, then you can download the ETA through the link provided. I do recommend you to print it out so you can show it if (touch wood) any issue happens when you are entering NZ.

Okay~ That’s all for the sharing this round. Hope this simple guide helps~

How To Apply an Australia ETA Visa at Home For Only RM25?

Update 8 April 2020: Latest news from iAdventure Escape Tours And Travel Sdn Bhd, the charge is RM25/pax!

Update 6 March 2019: For visa verification, please read:

Update 3 May 2018: I just came back from Adelaide, Australia on 1 May. Applied for a visa from this website again, it is RM25/pax. Entering smoothly with the ETA. No question from the immigration officer. Please go ahead and apply. BTW, the website interface has changed but still easy to use. Happy holiday!

Update 29 Aug  2017:  Nur, a reader on this blog post mentioned she walked-in to apply for 9 pax’s visa. You may check her comment below. She provided the full address and website of the travel agent (which is also the one I have introduced here). For those who worry the website is a scam, please walk-in and get it done at the office. The price is the same, RM25/pax.

**For whom would like to know where to check your visa validity, I apologize that I do not know any. You may ask Mr. Google for assistance.

Update 11 Aug 2017: A friend of mine has visited Perth this early July. She applied through the website I introduced here. No issue going in and coming out from Australia. Still, the same answer, if you are worrying this is a scam, DO NOT apply!

Update 9 Jun 2017:
These 2 years, I have received tons of comments and IMs, as well as e-mail asking me is this a scam? My answer is still the same!!!! For me, this is NOT a scam!!!!! Again, I would like to highlight the following:

1. This is NOT an advertorial post. I share my personal experience of how I apply my visa to AUS.

2. Commenters who asked if this is a scam under this post have no update if they have an issue even though I tried to follow-up. So, I can only assume they do not have an issue.

3. No complaint/feedback at all from readers telling me, they couldn’t enter AUS after applying for a visa through the agent. The only feedback I have gotten is the application fee has increased from RM20 to RM25 now.

4. DO NOT apply, if you really worry and think this is a scam. As said, I didn’t face any issue to enter AUS, and no feedback saying they couldn’t enter AUS. So, if you do not trust it, DO NOT apply. Head to the Embassy and apply it is the safest way.
If you encounter any problem to enter AUS because of the visa is not valid, please please please let me know so I can update here and avoid others to apply through the agent in future.

Update 21 Nov 2015:
Received emails, IMs and comments, possibly you are also worried if this company is valid. FYI, I went to Perth on 14 Nov and return to KL on 20 Nov. No issue happened. So, go ahead reading the guide below on applying for Australia Visa with only RM25! If you still need bits of help, do not hesitate to shot me a message!

Despite weak currency, we still love traveling. I have booked tickets to Perth, Australia which will be in the coming November. In this post, I am going to show you how to apply for Australia Visa at home. Guess what? It is only RM25!   It is not the first time I will be traveling to Australia; however, the first time to settle visa myself. I have been asking around on how my friends apply. One of them applied via walk-in. Another one applied online. Googled it and found iAdventure Escape Tours And Travel Sdn Bhd. I was shocked that it is only RM25/person! Remember my parents paid RM50 last time and I checked the embassy website saying to have AUD20. It is unbelievably cheap! I admit I thought it was a scam; so checked their review and also WhatsApp for inquiry. Finally, I decided to take it. Below are the steps to apply for Australia Visa at home.

Step 1: Go to

Step 2: Click “Apply Now” from the menu bar.

Step 3: Fill in your details. Make sure all are correct before submitting them. Click “Submit ETA” at the bottom. Note – Date format is DD/MM/YYYY

Step 4: After submitting, the website will take you to the “Payment Page”. You can pay via credit card. If you do not have a credit card, call them at +603-21645555 and get Bank account details. You must send your payment details to the agency’s email at [email protected]

Step 5: After the success of the payment, you will be seeing the confirmation page along with the Application ID (AVSxxxxxx). If you submit the application with the business hours (MONDAY – FRIDAY 9 am to 6 pm) then you can expect the approval within the same days before 11 pm. Otherwise, expect within 24 hours. Australia ETA also has an express application service for higher fees of RM50 and ETA approval comes within 1 hour.

Hope this simple guide helps the miserable one. I have compared a few agencies, iAdventure Escape Tours And Travel Sdn Bhd is the cheapest! Their response was fast too when I asked them questions. If you are going to Australia or you know one who is going to Australia, don’t forget to share them the awesome news of applying for Australia Visa at such a cheap price.

How to verify an Australian ETA Visa?

Despite cheap Australia ETA fees of RM25, it’s easy to think that might this Australia ETA could be a scam/fake or not valid to travel. I do not blame you because if I am in your shoes, I’ll think the same. So, how to do the verification to know if the ETA is valid or not?

First of all, what does an Australia ETA visa look like? Here it is…

australia eta visa verification
Australia eta visa verification

General Information

If you have received a confirmation e-mail from us, then you are now approved to travel to Australia. However, some customers wish to verify their visas. This is NOT necessary, as you are now electronically stored in the immigration system. The response that we are given (looks like this) is a direct response from Australian immigration regarding your visa status and is proof that your visa is valid.

However, the following agencies can also verify your visa:

  1. Any Australian Embassy
  2. Any Australian Visa Office. (Full list here)
  3. Your Airline ; upon obtaining the boarding pass at the counter
  4. Travel Agency who issued Flight ticket

Please note that your airline will automatically check the status of your visa at the airport before you depart. Since they are capable of both issuing and amending visas, this assures you and other travelers that you cannot be stranded at the airport.

Reference Numbers

We do not provide a reference number to be used on the government site, they are only given to applicants who use the government site itself. The reference number is used by the government for their customers to check the status of their visa. However, we eliminate this extra step to save our customer’s time, by sending out an approval confirmation e-mail as soon as the visa is approved in the ETA system.

The government help section lists this information in the pictures below. Or, you can read further information on the Department of Immigration site here.

The Department of Immigration’s VEVO system is used by schools, organizations, and companies to check the status of potential employees, students, or researchers on the status of their visas. This is widely used to determine the eligibility of these people to begin research, studies, or work.

The VEVO system is not used to check the status of short-term tourist visas. The Reference, Grant, or other numbers that the system asks for are not provided for a subclass 601 ETA tourist visa.
